Holistic comes from the Greek word "holos" meaning whole. The holistic approach to treatments takes into account a person's whole being - mind body and spirit and not just the symptom or ailment. So then aftercare advice can be given with regards to your environment, nutrition and your health as a whole, both physically and psychologically.

Everything we do in our daily lives affects our body. We can suffer symptoms of stress from working in an uncomfortable environment or feelings of being under pressure because of deadlines needing to be met, or just leading a very busy life which in the end leads to us feeling tired, exhausted, stressed and anxious.
Why is the Holistic approach important?
Because it treats every person individually and in context of their own life. This helps the person to improve their health themselves through encouragement by holistic therapist, thus re-establishing the body's equilibrium or balance in our body. For the best therapeutic effect all aspects of integral biology need to be considered.
If we do not take care of ourselves properly we will ultimately wind causing a number of negative effects on our body's, as well as having illnesses, so it's important that we put
good things into our body by eating a healthy, nutritional balanced diet, keeping salt and sugar to a minimum amount. Try cutting down on stimulant's such as tea, coffee, cola, alcohol and nicotine. Replacing with plenty of fruit and vegetable's and drinking plenty of water or pure fruit juices. A good way of getting your five a day would be to blend some of your favorite fruits together making a wonderful refreshing drink, great for first thing in the morning to get you off to a good start. For an even tastier treat, try adding some fresh plain yoghurt to tranform it into a lovely delicious smoothie!
Do you sleep well?
Getting enough sleep in our daily lives is always important as well. Some people often find it difficult to get a good nights sleep. Perhaps if this is a problem for you, try taking some fresh air and exercise at least 1 - 2 hours before retiring to bed. Then relax and wind down with some relaxation like reading, listening to some soft relaxing music, and/or try taking a nice warm bath with some lighted candles, add some essential oils like lavender & chamomile to help you relax. Also chamomile tea can be helpful.
